VIKING SHIP 9TH CENTURY

The viking era lasted between 8th century A.D to 11th century A.D, their ships were modestly decorated to optimize the ship's sailing abilities, strength, speed and cargo capacity, these ships had bow at both the ends and very few of these ships carried a dragon head at its bow, as it marked the status and rank of the viking kings. By adopting keel in the 9th century, the stability and speed of the ship was greatly improved. A mast of 20 meters was laid in the middle of the length of the 24 meters long ship with a single sail, these ships were able sail smoothly even in shallow water depths.
